About Roots
We are a small CIC based in Hawkwell, Essex in a wonderful space we have been lucky enough to secure from 1st Hawkwell Scout Group (we are ever so grateful to them for allowing us to have this space on long term lease). Roots is set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) which effectively means we are regulated in a similar way as a charity but give us slightly more flexibility in our approach. However, we are still a not for profit and any thing we raise goes straight back in to continually improving our offering and reaching more people in our community.

To bring positive interactions and community to any one who come to Roots, be it as part of our women's circles, education sessions or drop in cafes'. To allow people to be themselves in a safe, non-judgmental space, where they can improve their health and wellbeing with meaningful connections.

To be the place that our community comes to build connections and friendship.
Our vision is to offer a schedule that is accessible to anyone who may want to engage with it. A place where you can learn to grow produce, take your craft project home, learn about sustainability, bake and prepare preserves, mediate and be mindful, make friendships and life long tools.
